The Black Lady Theatre is Brooklyn’s historic theatre and art facility serving the greater New York City area.
Also known as The Slave II, this beautiful facility reopened its doors after 20 long years in Autumn 2016. Our three-story building boasts numerous creative spaces for producing theatre, music and art. The 5,300 square foot venue is located at 750 Nostrand Avenue (between Park Place and Sterling Place), Brooklyn, New York
The mainstage theatre accommodates up to 450 (seated) and 1,000 (standing room) while the upstairs studio and rooftop works well for smaller groups and parties.
Located in the heart of Brooklyn, The Black Lady Theatre is based in the historic Crown Heights area. Encased in a beautiful glass-enclosure, our lobby is a hub of cultural activity. Our newly renovated performance space features a large main stage, raked platform seating and a beautiful gallery balcony.
On the upper level of The Black Lady Theatre lives a gorgeous studio space and rooftop terrace, perfect for workshops, classes and events.
